Our Story
From childhood road trips to state parks to dreaming of the Eiffel Tower, I’ve always been captivated by the thrill of discovering new places. I collected Parisian trinkets long before I ever stepped foot in France—shower curtains, keychains, and anything with that iconic silhouette. On our 25th anniversary, my husband Jim and I finally lived that dream: wandering the Amalfi Coast, marveling in Rome, Florence, and Venice, riding the train through the Swiss Alps, and ending our first European adventure in the City of Light. A year later, we returned with our son Aaron—leg braces and all—to explore Sicily and the Amalfi Coast again, making memories that still warm my heart.
My “ah‑ha” moment came through a community of fellow travel hackers who showed me how to explore the world affordably. Hearing their stories and sharing mine sparked a desire to help others capture the magic of their own journeys—and so Whispers & Treasures was born.
By day, I’m an accountant with three decades of experience and the daughter of a small‑business owner who taught me the power of entrepreneurship. By night (and weekends), I channel my creative side into designing seasonal and travel‑inspired t‑shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, and ornaments. I even authored a children’s coloring book starring my son Aaron exploring France—complete with activity pages to spark little imaginations. It will be launching in the very near future.
Keepsakes matter because they transport you back to moments that shaped you. One of my favorite souvenirs is a handcrafted purse from San Gimignano—and another from Taormina—each stitch and color reminding me of those sunlit Italian streets and the excitement of discovery. Jim’s passion for photography brings our shop to life, sharing the landscapes and hidden gems we’ve been lucky enough to witness firsthand.
Launching Whispers & Treasures wasn’t without its challenges—balancing a full‑time career, running a travel agency, and mastering new design and Shopify skills pushed me out of my comfort zone. But every hurdle has only reinforced my commitment to making travel memories tangible and accessible.
Looking ahead, I can’t wait to expand our offerings with travel guides and planners that ease the stress of new adventures, more destination‑inspired apparel and keepsakes, and new coloring book stories (next up: Miracle’s journey through European capitals and beyond). Here’s to many more adventures, and to the treasures we’ll uncover together—one journey at a time.
